Injection mold inserts require very high precision and generally need to be customized according to needs, which can be directional, circular or other shapes. Injection mold inserts refer to irregular mold accessories used to be embedded in the mold, which play the role of fixing the template and filling the space between the templates.
Classification of injection mold inserts:
The types of injection mold inserts are mainly divided into pin inserts, insert blocks, insert columns, insert rings, etc. Commonly used materials include SKD61, SKH51, ASP23, SKD11, etc. The hardness generally reaches above 50HRC, and the standard accuracy is ±0.01mm.
The role of injection mold inserts
1. Save injection mold manufacturing materials. If the front mold or the rear mold is high, the height of the injection mold can be reduced by making inserts, thereby saving injection mold manufacturing materials and costs.
2. Convenient for subsequent mold changes. Injection molds that often need to be modified can be easily modified by removing the inserts, because only the inserts need to be replaced, so it is convenient, quick and cost-effective.
3. Repair the mold and increase the strength of the injection mold. When there is a small area of damage in molded parts such as the mold core or slider, the broken part can be disassembled into inserts to repair the mold and increase the strength of the injection mold.
4. Shorten injection mold delivery time
When there are deep bones in the cavity that need to be processed, they can be disassembled into inserts for easy processing, which can greatly shorten the injection mold processing time.
